I'm Ellen Meyers and I write about renewable energy for S&P Global Market Intelligence in Charlottesville, Virginia. I focus on the domestic and global wind power sector. Ask me about the business, financial-backing and policy-making decisions behind the U.S. and international wind energy industry.
While my stuff is behind a paywall, I can share a sampling of my work. Read about the one-year anniversary of the U.S.’s first offshore wind farm means for the rest of the emerging market, or why European wind powerhouses are increasingly going into solar and storage. You can read a sample of my stories from my career in the Clips section.
I grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, home to the “Shot Heard Around The World” and basically the birthplace of the American Revolution. I studied newspaper and online journalism and finance at Syracuse University in upstate New York, where I worked at The Daily Orange, The NewsHouse and Baked magazine. I was also president of our Society of Professional Journalists chapter, a peer adviser to freshmen and transfer journalism students and a tour guide for the Newhouse School. I have interned at The Dallas Morning News, The Christian Science Monitor and the Central New York Business Journal.
In my free time, I love to work out, volunteer with my local chapter of the Junior League and expand my Ukrainian vocabulary without embarrassing my ancestors.
